Social determinants have a significant impact on election gains of political parties; in this respect the chapter also analysed opinions of local assembly members in the Moravian-Silesian region. Data come from two waves of surveys "Changes of MunicipalAssembles in a European Perspective". This survey is part of the international project Municipal Assemblies in European Local Governance. Opinions of political representatives (members of local town assemblies) on selected political issues were studied vis?á?vis those of assembly members from the rest of the Czech Republic. The differences between opinions of local assembly members and those of other cities in the Czech Republicpertain particularly to the reduction of pollution and fight against marginalisation. With some of those goals, the attitudes differ according to whether an assembly member endorses the left, right or middle of the political spectrum.
