Dieser Aufsatz behandelt die Interpunktionslehre, die Christian Pudor in seinem 1672 veröffentlichten Werk 'Der Teutschen Sprache Grundrichtigkeit und Zierlichkeit' präsentierte. Diese Lehre hat bislang in der Forschungsliteratur wenig Beachtung gefunden. Dem Standardwerk von Höchli (1981) zufolge ist Pudors Lehre konventionell und unoriginell. In diesem Aufsatz wird hingegen demonstriert, dass Pudors Lehre als erster Versuch gewertet werden kann, die traditionell-rhetorische Interpunktionskonzeption zueiner syntaxbasierten Interpunktionslehre zu transformieren.

This article deals with Christian Pudor's theory of punctuation presented in his 'Der Teutschen Sprache Grundrichtigkeit und Zierlichkeit' (1672). This theory has received little attention in the pertinent literature. According to the standard work by Höchli (1981), Pudor's theory is based on a conventional conception. In contrast, this article argues that within the history of German punctuation theory Pudor's approach represents the first clear shift from the traditional rhetoric conception to a syntax-based punctuation theory.
