In the Hlučín Region, the Catholic Church is an established and active part of the local political community. It is also able to engage believers in its own activities, and reproduction of religion is ensured by a close connection to the school system, where religious activities and symbols are routinely present. Religious symbolism is abundantly present in the region, and collective rituals, whose religious component is enhanced by the amount of accompanying profane activities, are also important. Although they are often criticized by the locals, they also form the framework of religiosity reproduction. The perceived cultural otherness is derived from Prussian values that have helped reproduce religiosity over time. An important role in this is also played by family cohesion.
