Through their initial lectures - Prof. PaedDr. Mgr. Miroslav Vaněk, Ph.D: Let's go Abroad! Frames and Changes of Czechoslovak/Czech Traveling and Tourism Before And After 1989 in Historical Perspectives and Doc. PhDr. Pavel Mücke, Ph. D.: Contemporary History of Czech Society Since 1968 - the authors first widened the audience's horizons in the problematics of 1968-1989 Czechoslovak era. Then they introduced their work Velvet Revolutions and the methods used to collect the material for this publication. The lectures were followed by a workshop. The American audience mostly of Czech descent was given hypothetical political and social questions and was asked to discuss the reactions in groups and share and compare the outcomes with others.
