Der Beitrag wird dem Leben und Schaffen des (halb)vergessenen Prager Schriftstellers Louis Weinert-Wilton (1875-1945) gewidmet, der einst einer der meist verkauften Autoren von Kriminalromanen war. Aufgrund einer Analyse des Romans 'Die Königin der Nacht' (1930) wird die Kriminalliteratur der Zwischenkriegszeit vorgestellt, gleichzeitig wird der Text von Weinert-Wilton mit den Kriminalautoren der Weltliteratur verglichen - vor allem mit dem englischen Schriftsteller Edgar Wallace (1875-1932), der zum Vorbild Weinert-Wiltons wurde.

The article is dedicated to the life and work of the (half) forgotten Prague writer Louis Weinert-Wilton (1875-1945), who was once one of the best-selling detective novelists. Based on an analysis of the novel 'The Queen of the Night' (1930), the crime fiction of the interwar period is presented, at the same time the text by Weinert-Wilton is compared with the crime authors of world literature - especially with the English writer Edgar Wallace (1875-1932), who became the model of Weinert-Wilton.
