Op deze conferentie staan de beide hervormingspausen Adrianus VI (1459-1523), de laatste niet-Italiaanse paus voor lange tijd, en Johannes Paulus II (1920-2005), de eerste niet-Italiaanse paus na Adrianus VI, centraal bij gelegenheid van het 500ste jubileum van de pauskeuze (Adrianus VI), respectievelijk het 75-jarige jubileum van de priesterwijding van Karol Wojtyla. Op de conferentie komt religieuze thematiek in verband met het Nederlands aan bod.

On the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the election of a Pope (Adrian VI) and the 75th anniversary of the ordination of Karol Wojtyla, this conference will focus on two reformist Popes: Adrian VI (1459-1523), for a long time the last non-Italian Pope, and John Paul II (1920-2005), the first non-Italian Pope after Adrian VI. The conference will discuss religious topics related to the Dutch.
