Perfecting The Human Mind: An Analysis Of J. A. Komensky’s Concept Of a Perfect Philosophical System
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
In his final work, De rerum humanarum emendatione consultatio catholica, J.A. Komenský endeavours to reform and perfect all human things. Part of this project of panorthosia is the creation of a perfect philosophy, one which would synthesize all existing academic fields into a single all-encompassing science, based on what he called the three perfect books of God, the physical world, the human mind and the bible. This perfect philosophy would, according to Komenský, answer all questions that mankind could possibly hope to answer and eliminate all possibility of contradictory academic methodologies, philosophical schools or ideologies. In this paper, I will present how Comenius imagines his perfect philosophy, what is its methodology and Komenský’s reasons for creating it, as well as the schools of thought that influenced the creation of Komenský´s perfect philosophy, including the renaissance Neoplatonism and the thinking of Nicholas of Cusa.
