Der Verband der tschechoslowakischen Komponisten organisierte Künstlerreisen ins Ausland, zunächst in verbündete sozialistische Länder. Später begann der Verband, seine ideologisch bewährten Funktionäre in den Westen zu entsenden. Und dort wurde die ideologisch fortschrittliche Kunst direkt mit der westlichen musikalischen Avantgarde konfrontiert. In diesem Beitrag soll dargestellt werden, wie diese Begegnung mit der internationalen musikalischen Nachkriegsavantgarde von den offiziellen Vertretern der VTK in den 1950er und 1960er Jahren reflektiert wurde.

The Union of Czechoslovak Composers organised tours of artists abroad, initially to allied socialist countries. Later, the Union began sending its ideologically proven officials to the West. And it was there that ideologically progressive art was directly confronted with the Western musical avant-garde. The purpose of this paper is to outline how was this encounter with the international post-war musical avant-garde reflected by the official representatives of the UCC in the 1950s and 1960s.
