Le chapitre se concentre sur les idées de la politologue et philosophe Camille Froidevaux-Metterie, qui, après sa propre expérience vécue de la maternité, a commencé à aborder ce phénomène à partir de diverses théories féministes. Elle s’appuie principalement sur le point de vue philosophique fondamental de la philosophe existentialiste Simone de Beauvoir, et se concentre sur la position de la femme-mère dans le mariage, le rôle de la grossesse et le rôle du corps féminin maternel. On se réfèrer à leurs idées en examinant l’œuvre de l’écrivaine française contemporaine Marie-Hélène Lafon au but de définir ses spécificités de l’image de la figure maternelle. On prend en considération les caractères des héroïnes que met en scène l’auteur. Leur humanité et leur féminité vécues expliquent leur approche à la maternité.

The chapter focuses on the ideas of political scientist and philosopher Camille Froidevaux-Metterie, who, after her own lived experience of motherhood, began to approach this phenomenon from various feminist theories. It draws mainly on the fundamental philosophical point of view of the existentialist philosopher Simone de Beauvoir, and focuses on the position of the woman-mother in marriage, the role of pregnancy and the role of the maternal female body. We refer to their ideas by examining the work of contemporary French writer Marie-Hélène Lafon in order to define her specificities of the image of the maternal figure. We take into consideration the characters of the heroines portrayed by the author. Their lived humanity and femininity explain their approach to motherhood.
