De woordontkenning of morfologische ontkenning behoort tot de basistypen van ontkenning zowel in het Nederlands als in het Tsjechisch. Het artikel besteedt speciale aandacht aan de vergelijking van zelfstandige naamwoorden met het negatieve voorvoegsel on- in het Nederlands en ne- in het Tsjechisch. Eerst worden deze substantieven kort gekarakteriseerd en vervolgens vergeleken op basis van de gegevens uit geschreven corpora, namelijk het Corpus Hedendaags Nederlands en SoNaR voor het Nederlands en het corpus SYN (versie 12) voor het Tsjechisch. De vertaalequivalenten van de meest frequente zelfstandige naamwoorden met de negatieve voorvoegsels on- en ne-, zoals gevonden in de Nederlands-Tsjechische, Tsjechisch-Nederlandse vertaalwoordenboeken en in het parallelle corpus InterCorp, worden hier ook geanalyseerd.

One of the basic types of negation used in both the Dutch and the Czech language is lexical negation. The paper pays special attention to the comparison of nouns with the negative prefixes on- in the Dutch and ne- in the Czech. At first, they are briefly characterised and then compared on the basis of the data from written corpora, namely the Corpus Hedendaags Nederlands and SoNaR for Dutch and the SYN-corpus (version 12) for Czech. The translation equivalents of the most frequent nouns with the negative prefixes on- and ne-, as found in the Dutch-Czech, Czech-Dutch translation dictionaries and in the parallel corpus InterCorp, are also analysed.
