This article explores word-formation processes in Czech from a cognitive linguistic perspective. It challenges traditional, strictly modular approaches to word structure by viewing word formation as an integral part of the linguistic system, intertwined with grammar and the lexicon. The authors analyze how cognitive mechanisms and conceptual structures influence the creation of new words and the overall organization of the Czech lexicon. The study uses specific Czech data to provide evidence supporting the idea that the boundaries between morphology, syntax, and the lexicon are less distinct when viewed through a cognitive lens.
