Das Kapitel befasst sich mit der baulichen Entwicklung des Schloss Benatek, wobei der Schwerpunkt auf der Renaissancebauphase in der zweiten Hälfte des 16. Jahrhunderts liegt. Diese wurde teilweise durch Bauphasen im 17. und 18. Jahrhundert ergänzt. Die Analyse der baulichen Entwicklung ermöglichte es jedoch, die Entstehung der wertvollen Sgraffito-Verzierungen auf die 70er Jahre des 16. Jahrhunderts zu datieren, als die Residenz im Besitz der Herren von Donín war. Frühere Forschungen brachten diese Verzierungen mit der Rudolfinischen Ära in Verbindung.

This chapter focuses on the architectural development of the castle complex in Benátky nad Jizerou, with an emphasis on the Renaissance construction phase in the second half of the 16th century. This was partially integrated with construction phases in the 17th and 18th centuries. However, it was precisely the analysis of the architectural development that made it possible to date the creation of the valuable sgraffito decoration to the 1570s, when the residence was owned by the lords of Donín; previous research had linked this decoration to the Rudolfine era.
