Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
This text examines the role of Ombudsmen in the Czech Republic and Ukraine, focusing on their contribution to protecting the public subjective rights of individuals dealing with public administration. It also highlights their indispensable role in strengthening public administration's efficiency and accountability. The primary objective of this text is to conduct a comparative analysis of how these institutions function and the legal instruments they use to protect individuals. This analysis aims to identify potential mutual inspirations for improving both Czech and Ukrainian legal frameworks and practices. The existence and effective operation of independent Ombudsmen, capable of safeguarding the rights and freedoms of those interacting with public administration, are key criteria for fulfilling public administration's purpose as a service to the public. This also signifies a responsibly functioning public administration, which is an essential condition for Ukraine's accession to the European Union.
