The monograph "The Prayer of Jesus in Matthew's Gospel. An Exegetical-Theological Study" analyzes the texts in the Matthew's gospel related to the personal prayer of Jesus in order to discover the form of his prayer with all its characteristics and consequences. This work attempts to point out the relevance of the theme of Jesus' prayer in the composition of the Matthew's gospel. The exposition is divided in two parts. In the first there are separately analyzed by means of the synchronic method the texts regarding the prayer of Jesus. The second includes two chapters. The first is dedicated to the function of the prayer of Jesus in the context of the whole narration of Matthew's gospel; the second presents the central characteristics of the prayer of Jesus in the Matthew's gospel.
