This article concerns the practical aspects of personal identification based on a statistical analysis of their digitized iris images. Resuming the existence of a database of their numerical representation it is possible to approach the identification process in two ways. If it is a priori known that the testted iris has been already scanned and its characteristics are included in the database, it concerns the biometric verification. On the other hand, if it is not known that the characteristics of thetested iris are included in the database, it concerns the biometric identification.
