Cartographic Support of Fire Engine Navigation to Operation Site
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The paper deals with traffic accessibility for fire engine within Olomouc City. The present way of driver?s navigation (by hardcopy pre-prepared maps) is insufficient. The modern geoinformation technologies offer powerful capabilities to make more convenient navigation. The authors introduce GIS application that is based on network analysis over spatial databases fully equipped by attributes which are crucial from simulation of real-time fire operation. They are mainly daytime, traffic density, road-works etc. The existing web-based map servers are tested to be technological environment for the application. The preliminary results show that various servers calculate different solutions. Inaccuracy is not allowed. Analytical aspects of the application reflect authors? collaboration with Olomouc Fire Guard. The main emphasis is given to cartographic aspects of navigation instructions fitted to driver?s abilities to read driving situation.
