The aplication of formal concept analysis and importance of the scale selection in evaluation of physical activity data in relation to the body mass index
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Background: Research confirms that physical activity (PA) is irreplaceable in healthy and physically active lifestyle. One of the key research questions is what the healthy and optimal level of everyday PA is and how it should be quantified and interpreted. Formal concept analysis is a possible way how to assess and describe level of PA in relation to personal data. Objective: Main goal of this study was to introduce the method of Formal concept analysis (FCA) using data from the ANEWS questionnaire anddata from objective monitoring of number of steps using YAMAX SW-701 pedometer. Further aim was to adopt the most appropriate method within the FCA. Methods: Random sample of 273 males aged 18-69 from selected regional centers participated in the study. Results: Example of daily steps allows demonstrating how important it is to select the scale in data analysis in FCA. It is better to use ordinal scale for daily number of steps (in our example); because we create the attributes that can
