Water resources and water supplying in the Czech Republic: Outlook and historical context (case study: Čáslav region)
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The Czech Republic belongs among the scountries with a developed water management. The care of water resources is suported by the fact that almost 54% of drinking water comes from the surface water resources. The interest of the water management policy lies in an effort to retain most of the water surface in a basin as a potential supply and prevent the rapid drainage. Therefore a number of small water reservoirs and water dams having fulfilled or still fulfilling the water management function has beenbuilt in our country. Despite a relative sufficiency of water for human activities, there are regions in the Czech Republic, where the water supply has been historically very problematic and still is not sufficiently solved, particularly from the sustainable point of view. One of these regions is the Čáslavsko region, which is the subject of this contribution. This region within the heart of the Czech Republic has to solve for seeral times in history a crisis situation in the water suppl
