Research collaborations – On the experience of doing international research on sport for development and peace in South America

In this text, we present initial considerations on our experience of participating in the “South American Sport for Development voices and the Sustainable Development Goals” research, funded by the Olympic Studies Centre via its Advanced Olympic Research Grant Program 2020/2021. Thus, firstly, we report on the initial processes of research organisation. Secondly, we describe the research initial development process, which took place in 5 different contexts, one in Colombia, one in Uruguay, and three in Brazil. Thirdly, we highlight preliminary aspects of our analysis of the data generated from the research and expound the organisation of researchers for the production of academic texts. Finally, we list some of the challenges that we consider are posed for international research on Sport for Development and Peace (SDP).
