With the global changes, the role of restoration ecology is likely to significantly increase because it may be necessary to deal with the reconstruction of ecosystems in larger landscape units. Conservation biology seeks new adaptation strategies at thelevel of landscape scale. This presented study, in response to flood events in the Morava River basin (Czech Republic) in 1997, proposed the implementation of flood control measures in the floodplain landscape of Morava River using the restoration of floodplain landscape-ecological functions.
