The article addresses potential benefits of the information society for people with special needs. On the other hand, it draws attention to the high level of risk that may arise in a situation where information resources and information technologies arenot adapted to the needs of different categories of persons with special needs. The article informs about the research of the quality of life of people with special needs and the possibility of increasing the quality though adequately tuned information resources and technologies.
