Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Inclusive education of students with intellectual disability is currently a widely discussed issue in the Czech Republic. There are many proponents of inclusive education; on the other hand, many people have concerns. Therefore, the present study focuses on specific experience with this type of education. The main objective of the research was to identify the opinions about and experience with individual integration of students with mild intellectual disability, as seen by teachers, parents, classmates and the students with mild intellectual disability themselves. The research was conducted in the Zlín Region in the Czech Republic. The research was performed by means of an analysis of available documents, case reports, direct observation of students in classes, interviews, and sociometric measurement of a group of classmates. The conclusions of the research pointed to major problems in mathematics. Interviews with class teachers indicated that the process of preparation for classes was more difficult. A positive finding was that teachers, classmates, and also students with mild intellectual disability themselves perceived integration as beneficial. Interviews with parents suggested their maximum satisfaction with integration - in cooperation with the school, special education centre, and education of their child. Interviews with students with intellectual disability and sociometric measurement of a group of classmates suggested that students with mild intellectual disability were considered as regular classmates. Moreover, according to these sociometric measurements, they were among more popular students in a class. These students were easily integrated into a group of children without disability, their classmates considered them a natural part of their lives, students with mild intellectual disability felt the same.
