Die Arbeit befasst sich im Allgemeinen mit den Sammelnamen aus der semantischen, morphologischen und Wortbildungssicht. Der Schwerpunkt der Arbeit liegt darin, sie auf die Ge-Kollektiva einzugrenzen. Diese Gruppe wird im System der deutschen Kollektive definiert, gefolgt von dem Vergleich mit ihren tschechischen Entsprechungen, dem das Kapitel über tschechische Kollektive vorangestellt wird.
