Im Zentrum des Beitrags stehen drei Romane: Die Unvollendeten (2003) von Reinhard Jirgl (geb. 1953) unter dem Aspekt des Heimatverlustes, der als Identitätsverlust begriffen wird. Jirgl bearbeitet in ihm seine eigene Familiengeschichte, die durch die Vertreibung eine tiefgreifende traumatische Erfahrung war. Er verfolgt die Situation der Vertriebenen nicht nur während des Transfers aus der Tschechoslowakei nach Deutschland, sondern er reflektiert auch ihre recht schwierige Integration in der neuen Heimat. Diese Problematik ist ebenfalls im Werk von Gerold Tietz (1941–2009) zu finden. Er hatte die Vertreibung persönlich erlebt, im Gegensatz zu Jirgl, der auf die von seinen Vorfahren hinterlassenen Spuren angewiesen ist. Von Tietz wird vor allem der Roman Böhmische Fuge (1997) besprochen. Einen ähnlichen Umgang wie Jirgl mit dem Thema des Heimatverlustes realisiert Sabrina Janesch (geb. 1985) in dem Roman Katzenberge (1985).

The paper mainly deals with the novel Die Unvollendeten (2003) by Reinhard Jirgl in relation to the loss of homeland which is shown as the loss of identity. In the novel Jirgl analyses history of his family which was marked by expulsion as a deeply traumatic experience. The author observes the situation of expellees not only during their transfer from Czechoslovakia to Germany but also their problematic integration in the new homeland. This issue appears in the work by Gerold Tietz (1941-2009) as well. This author personally experienced being expelled while Reinhard Jirgl (born 1953) is dependent on searching trails after his ancestors. Among Tietz’s novels, the novel Böhmische Fuge (1997) is mainly discussed. Sabrina Janesch in her novel Katzenberge (1985) has a similar attitude to the topic of loss of homeland as R. Jirgl does.
