Pavel Herynek (*1943) je fenoménem nejen na olomoucké, ale i na české umělecké scéně. Je významným kreslířem a sochařem, ale především tvůrcem unikátního, uměleckého či autorského šperku. Monografie se pokouší o poněkud jiný pohled na šperkařskou tvorbu tohoto významného výtvarníka, než tomu bylo doposud. Proto se první kapitola věnuje vztahu šperků Pavla Herynka k historickému zdobení těla. Druhá kapitola pojímá uměleckou tvorbu jako vynalézání výrazu a obsahu, přičemž výraz je vytvářen k obsahovému modelu, který jako takový dosud neexistuje, protože nebyl doposud kódován. Ve snaze systematizovat více jak pět dekád trvající tvorbu olomouckého výtvarníka vytyčuje pojednání čtveřici idiolektů, jimiž autor k publiku promlouvá: 1. řeč přírodních struktur, 2. architektonická přísnost a řád, 3. písma a znaky, 4. přepínání a zrada kódu. Jak již poslední kategorie napovídá, specifikem Herynkova výtvarného myšlení je, že porušuje pravidla, vytváří nové kódy a mění staré, či je přepíná, takže pozorovatel je nucen přehodnocovat proces dekódování a revidovat vnímané. Další oddíl se věnuje Herynkově inklinaci k poezii, poetizaci materiálu a jeho zpracování. Autor sám v jenom svém výroku označil šperk „za nejlepší umělecký předmět komunikace“ a zároveň za „nositele poezie“, „zprávu“ a „veřejnou výzvu“. Poslední kapitola zdůrazňuje návaznost současného projektu na výstavu Herynkových šperků, kterou uspořádalo Krajské vlastivědné muzeum v roce 1982.

Pavel Herynek (*1943) is a phenomenon not only on the Olomouc art scene but also within the broader Czech artistic landscape. He is a distinguished draftsman and sculptor, but above all, a creator of unique artistic jewellery. The monograph seeks to offer a somewhat different perspective on the jewellery work of this important artist than has been shown previously. The first chapter is therefore dedicated to the relationship between Pavel Herynek’s jewellery and the historical tradition of body adornment. The second chapter treats artistic creation as the simultaneous invention of both expression and content, with expression being developed for a content model that does not yet exist, as it has not yet been codified. In an effort to systematize more than five decades of the Olomouc artist’s work, it identifies four idiolects through which the artist communicates with the public: 1) the language of natural structures, 2) architectural rigor and order, 4) scripts and signs, 4) code-switching and code-betrayal. As the final category suggests, a distinctive feature of Herynek’s artistic thinking is his tendency to break rules, create new codes, alter existing ones, or switch between them, thereby forcing the observer to re-evaluate the decoding process and revise their perception. The next part examines Herynek’s inclination toward poetry, the poeticization of material, and its treatment. The artist himself once described jewellery as “the finest artistic object of communication” and, at the same time, as a “bearer of poetry”, a “message”, and a “public appeal”. The final chapter highlights the continuity between the current project and the exhibition of Herynek’s jewellery organized by the Regional Museum in Olomouc in 1982.
