In 2004 we realized the examination of obese children undergoing the therapeutic and educative treatment in Public Spa Bludov. To evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment, we processed data of 270 children and adolescents from 7 to 17 years old, always at the beginning and at the end of six-week-long stay at a health resort. The average weight loss after the treatment was from 5 to 9 kg nevertheless the children are still obese. Their average BMI index after the weight loss remains above 97.percentile or declines to between 97. and 90. percentile. The state of %TBW is significantly influenced by proportion of adipose tissue on the total body weight with ontogenetic trend differing from published findings in children with normal body weight. Even after the weight loss the %TBW is substantially rising factually and statistically in both genders, in girls up to 12 years, in boys still at 14 ? after certain stagnation between 10?13 years.
