A comparison of ski jump execution in a group of the best jumpers

Ski jumping ranks among the sports disciplines making enormous demands on competitors. It is necessary to focus on the variances inside a group with a top performance level. Selected phases of ski jump (take off, transition to the flight, flight) were recorded (n=164). The parameters of the best jumpers were assessed and then compared with the other group of competitors. There exist significant differences in the measured angle parameters among best jumpers (1st-6th place in the event). The competitorsrealised the best jumps with the assistance of various combinations of the segment positions and the magnitude of the take off force. In the next stage it is necessary to utilise the set of all measured parameters together with the internal preconditionsof the ski jumpers.
