The posttraumatic care and a crisis intervention system for parts of the Integrated Rescue System in the Czech Republic
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
This chapter deals with the problems of the impact of emergencies, crisis situations, and traumatic events on the mental state of the Integrated Rescue system’s (IRS) members. Due to the performance of the profession in a specific environment, the need to deal with crisis situations, and participate in eliminating the consequences of emergencies, it is clear that IRS’s members get into situations not only physically but also emotionally demanding. The topicality of this topic is therefore based on the complexity of the work, especially on the increased psychological burden of these professionals and the risk of acute stress response, posttraumatic stress disorder, or other mental disorders arising in connection with the trauma. Attention is paid to the system of posttraumatic care, crisis intervention, and peer support within individual parts of the IRS in the Czech Republic (CR). The individual methods of critical incident stress management and components of posttraumatic development are also discussed.
