The present methodological paper deals with the principal aspects and possible applications of fuzzy logic, as an alternative to conventional demands of determinism and exactitude. In the last decade, several contributions have appeared which deal with the possibility of application of the fuzzy theory in physical education and sport, particularly in diagnostics of man's motor activities (Ester & Zinner 1995; Liesegang 1994; Leist 1996; Zinner et al., 1994; and others). The application of the fuzzy theory in diagnostics of motor performance offers new possibilities for evaluation of the scores obtained through various test systems and removes the problems occurring in the meeting of strict mathematical- statistical requirements of the probability theory. The present work deals with the problem of the use of the fuzzy theory in evaluation of the motor performance of young tennis players.
