Desde hace más de una década me he enfocado en el diseño de sistemas y herramientas para la composición musical basado en los sistemas numéricos maya y azteca, que he utilizado con éxito en la escritura de música para diferentes tipos de ensambles y medios a lo largo de estos años. En la actualidad, este diseño de sistema ha sido llevado a su siguiente etapa en un esfuerzo conjunto con la Academia Janacek de Música y Artes Escénicas - JAMU, esto a manera una investigación postdoctoral que tiene como uno de sus objetivos el desarrollo de un software y nuevas tecnologías que abrirán la posibilidad de uso y exploración de estas herramientas a diferentes artistas de todo el mundo. En esta presentación trataré los fundamentos de los sistemas numéricos y calendáricos prehispánicos, sus diversas aplicaciones y usos en la composición musical, así como algunas de sus posibilidades para los futuros usuarios de estas nuevas tecnologías, una vez que estén plenamente desarrolladas en las etapas avanzadas de esta investigación.

For more than a decade I have focused on the design of systems and tools for musical composition based on the Mayan and Aztec number systems, which I have used successfully in writing music for different types of ensembles and media throughout the ages. this years. At present, this system design has been taken to its next stage in a joint effort with the Janacek Academy of Music and Performing Arts - JAMU, this as a postdoctoral research that has as one of its objectives the development of software and new technologies that will open the possibility of using and exploring these tools to different artists from all over the world. In this presentation I will discuss the fundamentals of pre-Hispanic numerical and calendrical systems, their various applications and uses in musical composition, as well as some of their possibilities for future users of these new technologies, once they are fully developed in the advanced stages of this investigation.
