The financial and economic crisis and its aftermath changed the economic and political landscape around the world. Its impact on international economic relations in general and the differential impact on the national economies in Europe poses a key challenge for both the European and national institutions. The contributions in this volume explore the implications of the economic and financial crisis for the economic policies (especially from the perspective of monetary, fiscal policies). Emphasis is given to the functioning of the European Economic and Monetary Union.
