Tourism plays an important role in the Mexican economy contributing around 7.6% to the Gross Domestic Product. That is why it is important to evaluate performance of the tourism sector for detecting possible areas of improvement. In this article, a combination of dynamic two-stage DEA model and fuzzy time series forecasting is used to investigate hospitality and site attraction efficiency in seven traditional beach touristic centers between January 2015 and December 2021. The results indicate significant differences between Stage 1 and Stage 2 efficiencies. Low site attraction efficiencies indicate opportunities for new policy decision-making strategies to strengthen tourism position both nationally and internationally.
