Utilization of calcium, magnesium and phosphorus during early growth of chicks.
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Daily changes in utilization of Ca, Mg and P were investigated in a balance experiment with meat type and laying type cockerels during the growing period from Day 3 to Day 22. Utilization of Ca and Mg increased very quickly and reached its maximum at 8 and 14 days of age, respectively. The coefficients of utilization of Mg stabilized themselves after a sudden drop in the 15th day of life. Coefficients of P retention decreased (P<0.01) during the whole experiment. Content of Ca per 1 g of live bodygain increased linearly and significantly with age. Initial increase of Mg concentration in body gains culminated on the 13th day of life. After a decrease to the level ca 0.3 mg/g it was stabilized. The dependence of the content of P on age was expressed by the equation of the 2nd degree parabolas with maximum values at the end of the 2nd week of age. Concentration of Ca and P in live body gains was highly significantly higher in chicks of laying hybrid combination than in broiler chicks.
