Corrosion of steel machine parts is a world-wide problem. Corrosion is an irreversible process of geometry of the basic machine works. The aim of this paper is a technological and corrosion analysis of zinc coating. Two different types of steel were usedfor the tests, fist steel S235JRG2, which was manufactured by a hot rolling process and steel S235JRG1 which was manufactured by the technology of cold draw-ing. Both of the samples were hot-dip galvanized and afterwards, using a scanning microscope a chemical analysis was processed. Further, a metallographic analysis of the zinc coating as well as an analysis of zinc coating was processed. Corrosion tests according to the norm ČSN ISO 9227 (salt spray test) were processed resulting in an assessment ofthe influence of a pro-duction technology on quality of zinc coating and its corrosion resistance.
