Pollution Evaluation of the Bihanka river in the cadaster of Racovice

The papers presents an evaluation of surface water poluttion in Racovice municipality, the Vysočina region. The study of pollution consists in the field survey of surroudings of the village and the Bihanka river to identify sources of polution in the village. Bihanka has the most important function as a water source. Detailed research is also carried out at four sampling points of the river. Parameters of nitrate and nitrite nitrogen, pH and water temperature are evaluated every month, total phosphor, ammonia nitrogen and chemical oxygen demands are evaluated quarterly. The quatily of surface water in the village was subjected to an evaluation of the measured values in compliance with the Government Decree no. 61/2003 Coll. on indicators and values ofallowed pollution of surface water is significantly polluted even above the specified standards. It was polluted by ammonia nitrogen and also by nitrate and nitrite nitrogen in winter.
