Effect of Season and Morning or Evening Milking on Milk Temperature of Dairy Cows
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Milk temperature was evaluated as a potential biomarker for thermal comfort of dairy cows. Data was collected from 1413 cows of different breeds in 4 seasons during morning or evening milking with LactoCorder from 15 farms of Slovakia and 4 farms in Czech Republic. Mean of milk temperature for mornings milking (37,711 +- 0,0155 oC) for whole observation was significantly lover then mean of evenings milking (37,958 +- 0,0205 oC). We detected a significant influence of the season on the milk temperature. All 4 seasons were significantly different from one another with highest in summer (38,289 +- 0,0302 oC) and lower in winter (37,412 +- 0,0432 oC). During our evaluation of the significance of the effect of milking time during a season we observed insignificant differences between the morning and evening milking during the spring and summer season. During the autumn, a significant difference in the means of the milk temperature was observed. Milk temperature could be a useful biomarker to be involved into management of dairy cows breeding especially during summer period.
