Effects of different organic manuring on spring barley yields under long-term continuous cropping
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The concentration of cereals in crop rotations, particularly in the fertile areas of maize and sugar-beet production regions has been increasing. The agricultural enterprises specialized in cereal growing do not usually have cattle. Thus, cereal straw remains in the field and is a main source of essential organic substances supplied to the soil. Repeated cereal growing (in particular for a long time) is not without problems. It mostly leads to yield and yield stability decrease. Straw manuring is often reflected, especially in the dry conditions, on reduce yields of next crops. Straw manuring, particularly combined with shallow soil tillage, often generates problems associated with proper stand establishment. Furthermore, the straw can inhibit germination, emergence and initial growth of consecutive crops (Borresen, 1999; Elen, 2002; Prochazkova et al., 2002; Zheng et al., 2015 and others). The aim of the presented work is to evaluate effects of different practices of organic manuring on yields of winter spring barley long-term continuous cropping.
