Intensive fieldworks were undertaken in northern parts of Islamic Republic of Iran during mid summer seasons in 2017 and 2018. Overall species richness reached 35 species at 21 visited localities. Thirteen species from 5 families from the suborder Zygoptera and 22 species from 4 families from the Anisoptera suborders were recorded in our study. The most valuable species caught were e. g., Epallage fatime, Coenagrion pulchellum, C. lunulatum, Aeshna vercanica, Caliaeshna microstigma, Cordulegaster vanbrinkae, C. nobilis, Sympetrum flaveolum, S. vulgatum decoloratum or Selysiothemis nigra. First time Aeshna vercanica is documented from Gilan Province and Cordulegaster nobilis for Ardabil Province. Its habitat in this province is discussed.
