The Czech Republic has been a member state of the EU since 1st May 2004; during the first six months of the year 2009 the Czech Republic holds the Presidency of the Council of the EU. On this occasion, our research started at secondary schools in the Vysočina Region. The aim of this research was to get the information about the knowledge of last-grade students, and to get their opinion on the EU. The test included 40 questions (the multiple choice of the correct answer out of 4 possibilities). These questions investigated the knowledge of the EU in 8 sections including 5 questions. 20 questions investigated an opinion on the EU. Further, the test included 9 identification questions (sex, size of the hometown, political opinion, family property relations, future profession, an interest in the EU events, language knowledge and the kind of secondary school).
