In this paper the economic growth of the agricultural sector in the V4 countries is compared by using the Hellwing's model. The data from Eurostat and FADN EU were used for the modulation. The results indicate higher differences between the countries by the indicator of production potential - especially by the utilized agricultural area per farm. The differences in the production potential productivity are not so crucial. According to the level of agricultural development, it is possible to declare that Czech Republic and Poland are the countries with better agricultural potential within the V4 countries.
