The general reduction of the mouflon game stock itself would be desirable if the measure could take into account the age and social structure of the population. The general rejuvenation of the mouflon population is well documented by the decreasing quality of the trophy game, which undoubtedly relates to its excessive reduction in small hunting districts and to the missing control in the management of this game within the former breeding areas.
