Název v původním jazyce
The feeding of the willow leaf beetle Lochmaea capreae L. (Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae) on leaves of birch (Betula pendula Roth) contaminated with heavy metals.
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The effect of the contamination of birch (Betula pendula Roth) leaves with heavy metals (Cd, Mn, Pb, Zn) on the feeding of imagoes of the willow leaf beetle (Lochmaea capreae L.) was studied under laboratory conditions. The imagoes gave priority to feeding leaves less contaminated with Mn and Zn. Heavier feeding on less Cd-contaminated leaves was partly affected by the apical phenomenon. The Pb content was tolerated on all the studied levels. More feed was consumed under low and increased degrees of Cd,Mn and Zn contamination than the feeding of control leaves. Feeding Pb-containing leaves was not dependent on its level and was comparable with the controls. Parallel application of two heavy metals with a gradient of concentration reduced feeding. Therepellent effect of Zn 8000 microg.ml-1 in the Pb+Zn regime was compensated with Pb 500 microg.ml-1; the effect of Cd 250 microg.ml-1 in relation to Mn 10000 microg.ml-1 was similar.
