The paper gives information on the present condition of research in the field of high-sped milling at the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology, Mendel University of Agriculture and Forestry, Brno. The arrangement is described of a trial stand, the condition of the devel-opment of methods of measuring passive and aerodynamic resistances, the behaviour of basic parameters and the accuracy of repeated measurements in open milling. Results are docu-mented by means of selected diagrams.
