Management of forest protected areas in Chriby hills

Coulisse of Buchlovské vrchy hills (the archaic name for Chriby hills) stands up in the central part of Southeastern Moravia (Czech Republic) on the border between Southern Moravia and Zlín Regions. Chriby hills surmount surrounding landscape not only byaltitude, but exceed in forest coverage too. Sixteen of small-scale special protected areas (m-ZCHÚ) is concentrated on this large area; ten forest protected areas and other five with forest stands but with different aim of protection (geological phenomenon or meadows). Value of Chriby hills is illustrated by different concurrence of declared kinds of nature protection (special all-society importance) -- over regional biocentre of Territorial system of ecological stability, nature park and pSCI locality of NATURA 2000. Predominant part of Chriby forest complex is composed by autochtonous species composition, especially with beech (Fagus sylvatica) as economic wood.
