Population of Clethrionomys glareolus in three isolated forest complexes in rural southern Moravia (Czech Republic)
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
In rural landscape dynamic of bank vole (Clethrionomys glareolus, Cg) population was studied in three large isolated forest complexes which differed in food supply. One was old seminatural forest with dominance of oak (HL), the other was production broadleaved forest with dominant oak and black locust (HA), the third was pheasantry with variable mixture of forest plots of various woody species and age with permanent supplement of food for pheasants and roe deer (RB). Population fluctuation in four years of research was influenced by a seed year (2003, oak mast harvest) and higher population densities remain for two years to follow. Influence of mast crop on weight of individuals was statistically significant (P = 0.0484). Probable niche vacation (Apodemus flavicollis, Af densities lowered) were the reason of another high abundance year (2005). There were no significant differences in abundance among localities as Cg population was comparably influenced by a seed crop. There were only
