The forest road network shows multifunctional use serving not only for forest management but it is important also for man using the forest for recreational purposes. Because man is in a position to use the forest road network and to enter the forest ecosystem, he can use particularly social/recreational and sanitary/hygienic functions of the forest created by the forest ecosystem. The value of function potentials is, however, different with respect to the stand quality. During the stay in a forest ecosystem man perceives subconsciously mainly its aesthetic and sensational atmosphere and the technical quality of forest roads used. However, on the basis of exact data it is possible to determine more suitable stands for using social/recreational and sanitary/hygienic functions. Through values of the real potential of functions it is possible to evaluate the suitability of a forest road for recreation and to orientate the movement of people in the forest environment to places where the use
