Dissolved organic carbon fluxes in spruce stand throughfall and soil water in the Moravian-Silesian Beskids
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Dissolved organic carbon (DOC) is an important component of the carbon cycle in forest ecosystems. Concentrations and fluxes of dissolved organic carbon are relatively small when compared with forest ecosystem C luxes with litterfall or respiration but are important for carbon transport downward the soil profile and thus for carbon sequestration. This study gives the first assessment of DOC fluxes for a forest ecosystem with Norway spruce plantation at the experimental site at Bílý Kříž in Moravian-Silesian Beskids. Concentrations of dissolved organic carbon were monitored in atmospheric precipitation, throughfall and lysimetric waters sampled in regular fortnight intervals during the years 2001, 2002 and 2008. Precipitation and throughfall were collected by permanently open samplers, soil water was sampled with zero tension and vacuum lysimeters. Annual precipitation totals, mean annual concentrations of DOC in bulk precipitation and throughfall, deposition fluxes of DOC and DOC fluxe
