Property improvement of wood from fast growing plantations due to wood modification with renewable modification agents
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The increasing need for renewable biomass and the demand to exchange fossil resources due to climate-change problematic lead to a higher use of wood from fast and median fast growing plantations as well as from forest located lesser or too less used treespecies. Their utilization not only for energy use but also for higher value material use forces an improve of native wood properties, which are low for most possible tree species due to fast growing character, low wood density and low incorporation ofextracts into the cell walls. Compared to classical wood protection with biocides innovative wood modification with nontoxic and renewable agents delivers new materials from sustainable and ecological friendly processes. Native extracts as well as solidor liquid process residues from different bioprocessing technics have been used to impregnate wood with low durability and low mechanical or moisture related properties. First results of improved weight percent gain due to high penetratio
