This contribution is focus on the comparison of quality and the requirements for furniture par-ticularly on requirements of the finished surfaces of furniture, published in the national and Eu-ropean furniture standards with the requirements of customers using the furniture. The compari-son of demands of finished surfaces is aimed especially on other materials than wooden based materials applicate in the modern furniture. New requirements for quality of the furniture made from plastic, plastic composite materials will be presented in the conclusion together with results of their verification on furniture surfaces made from plastics, plastic composite materials.
