Text shrnuje zjištění učiněná v průběhu restaurátorského průzkumu a restaurátorského zásahu na antverpském kabinetu ze zámku v Rájci nad Svitavou, jeho dataci, atribuci a další poznatky k historii, konstrukci a materiálovému složení objektu. Kabinet v Rájci, původně z majetku rodu Salmů, je jediným kabinetem na českých hradech a zámcích a ve státních sbírkách, jehož ikonografie vychází z díla Proměny římského básníka Publia Ovidia. Ve stati jsou reflektovány výsledky umělecko-historického bádání, které jsou dány do souvisloti s výsledky bádání pomocí přírodovědných metod, jako jsou mikroskopie, UV fluorescenční mikroskopie, dendrologie, rentgenového snímkování, počítačové tomografie, XRF a FTIR analýzy. Poskytuje tak mimořádně plastický multidisciplinární obraz této v českém kontextu významné uměleckořemeslné památky a jejího vývoje v čase. Ukazuje též celou řadu sekundárních zásahů a na příkladu rájeckého kabinetu v neposlední řadě ukazuje možnosti a výsledky komplexního průzkumu historického mobiliáře.

The text presents the facts found during the research of the Flemish cabinet, a possession of the Salm family that is located in the State Castle in Rajec nad Svitavou. The cabinet decorated with scenes from the Ovid&apos;s Metamorphoses is unique in the Czech castles and chateaux. The treatise contains the iconographic analysis of the painted miniatures on copper plates together with the identification of art work masters. It also contains a number of new findings regarding the cabinet&apos;s history and attribution, including the identification of a visible intervention on the object in the mid-fifth decade of the 19th century. It also discusses the attribution, dating, and localization of the object and the possible connections between its origin and its journey to the Salm property and the Rajec Castle. The text also includes a range of material analyses and other research undertaken in the preparation of and during the restoration and conservation treatment in 2020. The cabinet has been attributed to the Forchondt Manufactory circle in the Antwerp, and models for the painting decorations have been found in the graphic prints of Crispijn de Passe the Elder. The paintings, their support and pigments were examined using an XRF analyser. The body of the object was examined for the wood species and surface finish. The wood species were subjected to a microscopic examination, the surface finish was examined using the FT IR spectroscopy. The microscopy, fluorescence microscopy, the XRF and GC/MS analytical techniques were also used to examine the white decorative strip in the intarsia. The wood species used for the construction of the historical cabinet body, among which a poplar predominates, were identified. Dendrochronological dating and localization were carried out for the larch board in the cabinet body bottom where the board has a thickness of more than 130 annual rings in a continuous row. The paper also contains the mechanoscopical findings associated with the used shaping tools and the findings which concern the use of local length units. The attached photographs also present images of the cabinet conservation treatment and examples of the graphic recording of the secondary interventions and damages. The survey the Rajec cabinet was subjected to is unique in the Czech environment and the information gained during the survey shows that it is desirable to further study the furniture pieces as an objects of a scientific and historical research.
